Mekuria Getinet

Sr. UX Designer

Mekuria Getinet is a Sr. UX Designer at Beezwax, focused on enterprise systems design: untangling complex operational workflows and turning them into functional architecture. He is a designer with a practical grounding in both visual design and front-end code, which means his prototypes actually work rather than just looking good on paper. Clients also count on him for a skill that has nothing to do with pixels: hearing everyone's voices and ideas, telling wants from needs, and shaping them into a solution the whole room can stand behind.

His background runs deep in digital product development. Over more than two decades in UI, brand, web, and print design, he has architected ad-building tools used by creative agencies and publishers, and financial applications that handle real user data. He iterates fast, and when something proves him wrong, he pivots just as fast to keep the work on track.

"I treat interfaces like physical objects: tear them down and reassemble them until they work. I'd rather get my hands dirty with real technical constraints than stay up in the clouds of theory."

Outside of work, Mekuria enjoys time with family, photography, 3D printing, pen plotters, and home automation projects, along with a lifelong habit of taking things apart to see how they work. Lately, thanks to his daughter, he is finally learning to appreciate musicals.
